I was about 60 days from being born in San Francisco, however my dad who was in the army and stationed at the Presidio got orders to Germany. Per Army regulations at the time , my mom, due to her condition of being 7 months pregnant with me was unable to travel overseas with my dad. He took my mom back home to Arizona where I was born and a few months later we traveled to Germany to be with my dad. Through the hand of Fate I found myself back here 29 years later.
This August I will have been in San Francisco for 30 years. Yes, I arrived just before the big one of '89. I was in an elevator on the 12th floor when it hit, I love to tell that story.
