Potholes cause destruction, to our cars, meaning more money for us to spend in our already expensive city.
Potholes are silent, mean, vicious entities. They come in many shapes and sizes. They are everywhere and not one of them carries good intentions. Yes, they cause much anger, rage and especially DAMAGE!
They are bold in the daylight, like an addict shooting heroin in front of City Hall. Like Jack the Ripper they lurk in the dark to rip the tread from your tire and like a vampire they lie in wait to sink their hardened, sharpened, inches thick, asphalt teeth into your tires. As they bite down and you drive over, they see the damage they have wrought on your vehicle suspension. $$ Perhaps an adrenaline rush from a blow out. No time to relish it now, it's rush hour, many more tires to devour.
OK, enough of that!
After the homeless problem. I believe the condition of our roads is next. I estimate it would cost 380-400 million to pave every road in San Francisco. That amount is just about the same the city spends on the homeless in one year! and the results?
Cut 100 million out of the homeless budget and every road could be paved in my 4 year term. We've paid for them, we deserve good roads!
